Elijah was between two great events where GOD used him. First Elijah announced a great drought, a bold statement of faith to King Ahab, and then GOD called him to go to a Ravine to hide where GOD would provide what he needed. This must have been a very hard time for the prophet of GOD with little water and little food. This was a great time of testing in his walk with the LORD. We too can be used of GOD greatly in our lives and GOD may also call us to a time of testing. Do we trust the GOD who has called us, and uses us, to keep us? Sometimes there is a lot of time between the times GOD uses us, the time that GOD tests us and the time GOD uses us again. When GOD tested Elijah and he was found faithful, GOD used him in an even greater way with the prophets of Baal. This illustration is not of the great times (in our eyes) that GOD used his servant, but the times of being faithful and obedient to GOD. Praise GOD for the times of faithfulness and obedience to Him who leads us and keeps us.
