James 5:17-18
Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again, he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops.

Waiting For You
Somehow our paths crossed and we began to walk down the way together for a time. We talked of things to come and shared the memories of our lives and became best of friends as the miles and the pages of our lives turned over and over again. There were no secrets between the best of friends and it seemed as if we would never part. Surely and suddenly the fork in the road came upon us and we had to part.
I could not walk down the path my friend would choose, for our meeting was just a breath in time. His had an eternal purpose that only He could fulfil. He chose to walk this path alone so He could die for me. It was not easy with all the insults and the crown of thorns as they mocked Him and He was whipped to an inch of His life. This would have been enough as I cried over the pain that He must have felt, but this was not His purpose, this was not His plan. He had to finish the course, to the death He would hang and all this to save my soul. Impaled, but not broken He cried out “it is finished”. He gave His life for me and layed seemingly helplessly in a barrowed tomb
of stone.
To merely look upon the sum of events that had taken place, my hopes were shattered upon the ground as it seemed I stood alone on my path in life with no direction and no course, all alone. What would I do and where would I go? Mercies are new every morning and on the third day my hope was alive as my best of friends had gloriously arose. There was no bitterness in Him who conquered the grave only promises after promises that He would never forsake us and lead us home. My barring is set, my compass is true, I am now only walking and waiting for you.
